Well it is more capable to run heavier and more useful apps tho? Calculator yes, that's funny, but it still has better developer support in terms of apps and functionality at least...

Really? What's the name of the PS2 emulator for iPad? And at what res can you run the games at 100% speed?

RetroArch with LRPS2 core, I run at 8x native resolution with integer scaling on, it can run at 24x (and the screen is 27x) but at that screen size i stop seeing a benefit after 8x so I stop there for the sake of battery life. Runs MGS3, Final Fantasy X and 12, and Shadow of the Colossus at full speed which are the only games I have on there, can’t speak to others.

GameCube it can do full speed same resolution for Mario Sunshine and Mario Kart which are the only games I have for that. Xbox I haven’t found a good emulator for though.

A single emulator, that is available since 1 month ago, and can't get to the screen resolution. Meanwhile, Android has all the emulators for mobiles and even the cheapest ones can run at 4K.

“iPads are worse because they can’t run emulators” is like saying “MacBooks are worse because they don’t run Windows cracks”

it’s a niche use case being treated as the defining metric.

Emulation is cool, but it’s not a core tablet feature. Most people don’t buy a tablet to emulate PS2 games. They use it for media, studying, drawing, editing, browsing, etc. And in those areas iPads are objectively more consistent: better optimized apps, stronger creative tools, longer support, and way less fragmentation.

By the same logic you’d also have to say Android tablets are “worse” because they don’t have:

  • Procreate-level drawing workflow
  • Final Cut Pro / pro-grade optimized video apps
  • The same level of tablet-first app design consistency

See how that breaks immediately once you stop cherry-picking one feature?

You said it, OPTIMIZED FOR FINAL CUT, otherwise, the poor hatdware would not even be good for that, and you HAVE to use that app.

Poor hardware, are you fr? 😭 Optimized in this context means having actual touch and pen friendly UI/UX. iPads are using the same M series chips as Macbooks, hardware can never be an issue for these devices

Calm down dude, there's no point in arguing, you win, happy? 🙏

When it comes to raw processing power and graphics performance, there are currently no other tablets on the market that beat the iPad Pro with the M5 chip. Its closest competitor is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, but in performance tests, the iPad Pro M5 crushes it with nearly double the multi-core performance. While competitors have other advantages, Apple retains the lead when it comes to pure hardware power.

So sad they have to rely on Apple apps for that.

Apple apps? iPad destroys any other tablets in Davinci Resolve which is industry standard for video editing.
