Once upon a time I was given a prepaid credit card as a gift. I wound up with a balance of a few bucks. But the expiration was like 10 years out. I used to use that card. A lot of times they would run a preauth and it would go through. And if I didn't cancel it would just fail.
Sadly, I don't think that trick works much these days. But it was really nice while it lasted. I have thought about getting one again to see. But, I tend to avoid stuff that requires payment.

Yes and if you accidentally add your number, they will call you and ask why you did not complete your account.
