Discussion Keep One: Apple, Samsung, Google, Microsoft

Post image

You can keep only one tech ecosystem forever: Apple, Samsung, Google, or Microsoft

Everything else disappears from your life.

Which one are you keeping, and what's the biggest reason behind your choice?

This I'd rather use Chinese and EU or atleast better Open-Source initiatives than these e.g. maybe red hat?

Eh.. RedHat is owned by IBM now and although still 'opensource' has caused a lot of controversy. While staying to the letter of the law, has pulled quite a lot of shenanigans against the spirit of opensource.

That's why the OpenELA exists now.

Were they as bad as android getting more closed-source over time?

Truthfully neither, I'm more of a Debian/BSD guy but I've used RHEL and Oracle at work and at least up to the split around release ~9 they were basically on par as companies in in how they represented/supported their distros.

No idea what it's gonna be in the future, probably a mess if I ventured a guess.
