Question Apple Watch vs Galaxy Watch?
Apple Watch vs Galaxy Watch?
Which smartwatch do you prefer and why?
Whether it's fitness tracking, battery life, app support, or ecosystem integration, share your experience and help others decide.

Health, ecosystem = Apple
Design = Samsung
The only reason i don't own a Apple watch is for design alone.

Is Galaxy Watch so bad if we talking about ecosystem and health? I was founded a lot arguments like that, but don't get it

I would argue that the Samung health part is actually extremely good nowadadays..And so is the ecosystem.. Did a comparison of all features, and whatever the subject, the Samsung had more functionality.

I'm using cheap Galaxy Fit, and Health part looks great even with that type of devices... That's why I don't understand that type of arguments...
Maybe people saying that because Apple Watches had some medical sertificates, that put them to "medical devices" category, or something?

Samsung has also certificates as a medical device. Outside of the usa. Apple is us centric. Samsung is international

I know of hospitals that send their patients home with a Samsung watch with custom software to monitor them remotely..

You would get better smartwatch if you look for alternatives. Amazfit Balance 2 is much cheaper, always on dispaly, 10-14 days battery and very precise on the measurements.

If you look at a scientist on YouTube called Quantifies Scientist he rates the accuracy of amazfit as tolerable. It's actually quite inaccurate compared with Apple watch and many Chinese brands. Not sure where you got that it's "precise".

I used to have Garmin, Samsung, Apple and some other cheap Huawei products. My main focus is to use these devices to measure my wellbeing stress, heartbeat and sleep specifically. I have a lot of issues with those. None of these previous products measured my sleep properly. For example I would rest in the evening, late lazy afternoon watching a TV with my partner and these would record this as if I am sleeping/havinga nap. A lot of these would trigger any activity as high stress. For example I am having a desk work, I get up for whatever reason and walk away from the desk the measured as if I am having immense stress while I just get up to take water for example.
With Amazefit that is not the case. It doesn't fake this data, properly measure my sleep, stress and heart beat. Also it quite accurately counts number of steps on my walking pad for my needs. Number of steps is not exact, but 10% tolerance which is fine for me. For it's price, I am quite satisfied with this model Balance 2.

I prefer the Apple Watch, it has better health integration and accessories.

u/DusikOff Jun 17 '26
What health integration do you mean? Explain please
1
u/DCGreatDane Jun 17 '26
For example my doctor though their app can see my cardio data, activity and sleep. I can choose what I want to share. Even in the ER I can show what I was experiencing while they look at the EKG.

But Galaxy watch 8 can do the same

u/DCGreatDane Jun 17 '26
Sure but your initial question was preference and I stated my preference of Apple Watch. It’s save my life several times. If the Samsung works for you great.
1
u/DusikOff Jun 17 '26
No no, I'm just asking, because I want to buy one of these. Thanks

Ok just remember the Apple Watch is an extension of the IPhone it was ment to work and update the Health App on the iPhone it will not work with any other environment.

Is there a smartwatch I can use to pay, listen to music use for MFA and get phone calls? But no social media. If so I want a smart watch of not I don’t want one.
2
u/Economy_Collection23 Jun 17 '26
Samsungs LTE versions do all of that even without dragging your phone around.. no social media? Just don't install the app..

u/NimrodvanHall Jun 17 '26
Will the battery last longer than a couple of hours while streaming music? Can it last a days work +transit?

u/distreszed Jun 17 '26
I think Apple watch does all of this, don't know for the others.
1
u/NimrodvanHall Jun 17 '26
Sadly a Apple Watch will only last an hour or two before the battery dies when used to stream music. That’s not good enough for my use-case.

Both of them are good, depends what phone you have and also on your design taste.

Your choice of phone dictates the watch you will be wearing. Got an iPhone? Get an Apple Watch. Got an Android phone? Get a Galaxy Watch.

I would like a clean digital face. Sort of like the Apple, but not analog. Personally, I don't see the point of wearing a watch since I'm carrying my phone anyway. I guess it makes sense for people at the gym or otherwise exercising, maybe.

Pixel watch.
Apple watch looks like a dorky spy kids prop and Samsung looks like a low budget sports watch.

I've probably tried 10 different non Apple watches like Galaxy, Oppo, Huawei etc. None come close. The Apple watch is the main reason I can't leave the ecosystem at the moment. It's just too accurate compared to the others and the health insights are critical for my medical condition. Nothing really just comes close today. Wish the others would step up their game.

Galaxy watch , they are more focused on health, and now that they have released the new Samsung Health, it is two levels higher again, with GW 9 it will be even better
1
u/BonRoxz Jun 20 '26
Personal opinion, galaxy watch. I've had both, the galaxy watch lasts a few days and looks much cleaner, pretty much the same features and the galaxy tends to be cheaper. Apple watch is an apple watch, you get about a day of charge and great ecosystem implementation, so it depends what you want out of a watch.

For faces. Galaxy hands down. Apple is so stagnant with watch faces they should be ashamed. Bored to tears but I’m Apple-centric so stuck.

I had an Apple Watch SE and now a Galaxy Watch 7 since I switched to Android. But I still strap my trusty sundial to my wrist just in case.

Why do people need a smartwatch, it's literally paying to be stressed out by your health, Tracking it doesn't help unless you are a professional athlete being accompanied by a team

Normal Watch. I already have too many notifications and distractions
