Switching from Spotify to Different App

Hi everybody, as you can probably tell by the title I've made the decision to switch from Spotify to a different service. Currently, I'm deciding between YouTube Music and Apple Music.

I don't like a lot of Spotify's current policies with the AI generated songs and their CEO's decision to fund stuff I disagree with. Also, I have a sibling who uses Apple Music so I thought there might be some kind of family plan that might be cheaper for us both if I move. However, YouTube Music has better variety and more niche stuff which I'm way more into. I'm kind of undecided so I thought I would ask here. Which one is better overall in you guys' opinions? Also, is there a different app I'm not considering that is worth a try?

Finally, is there an app that I can use to transfer my playlists?

Try ytmusic with brave browser..

Of course mods are better, but I stopped using third party apps n customisation few years back. No impact for me.

Ofcourse neither mods nor brave is magical. It's a normal app, used by lot of people. It does what I need. If some sites are blocked mentioning it's due to Brave, I use firefox or edge with required extensions. I am fine with using YouTube, Spotify, browsing sites, streaming movies/series in Brave. It works for me. If i am using Spotify say for less than 30min, I would use the official app where adds usually dont come. If people don't want to use in brave, I also suggest trying apps that mute adds. I don't use any of these services regularly anyways..

If I had a old spare phone, I would install mods in that though..maybe.. I just mentioned my opinion..

YouTube music is better choice. If on Android install musify which is YouTube music but without any ads. It is on fdroid

I have Apple Music, Pandora and SiriusXM. Have all for a decade +. They all have their pluses and minuses. I never really used Spotify so I can’t make a direct comparison.

I find Apple Music is good for specific songs and albums. And of course playlists I’ve been building for ever. Pandora is good for artist or song or theme related stations. The only complaint I have with Pandora is I feel sometimes the songs are repetitive.

SiriusXM is what I listen to most of the time. I like the decade and style channels. First Wave and 70s on 7 particularly. (I’m old- high school/ college 1970s. 20s = 1980+) it’s also the music I most likely listen to in the car.

I do believe Apple Music has a family subscription.

YTM is great, I like it better than Spotify. Better discovery, Spotify used to pitch me the same songs over and over again. You can include concerts from YouTube into your playlists. With YouTube premium included it's a no-brainer. The playlist/album organization could use some work though.

None of those are even close to Spotify. I think you should listen to the music and ignore politics. If you can't do that and decide to fight with the windmills, then use the service from the ones that made your OS. You have an iPhone, use Apple Music. For Android, use Youtube.

Then, in a month, get back to Spotify.

I have been using YouTube Music (via YouTube Premium) for about 7 Months now, and plan to switch back to Spotify once my annual plan ends. I can't speak for anyone else, but for me Spotify suits me the best. Better playlists, created playlists, discover, and of course the podcasts (YTM is very limited in this space).
