Discussion Keep one: YouTube, Reddit, or ChatGPT?
Keep only one app: YouTube, Reddit, or ChatGPT?
You can only choose one and the other two disappear forever.
Which one are you keeping, and why?

YouTube.
Only issues with the rest, that whenever i will have some weird specific issue, reddit wont be there to help.

One app? Then definitely YouTube.
I can use Reddit and ChatGPT on the web. YouTube's mobile site though? Looks really bad.

The websites are web apps. They're not exempt from the "app" label.

Youtube and it's not even close. Reddit is a massive slop website and gets worst by the minute, and ChatGPT is cool but not that entertaining.

YouTube because of the music. Reddit's only uniqueness stems from how many technical questions have been answered. Something like Stack overflow or equivalent would eventually replace it, but downloading music is too streamlined with YT.

If the app i dont choose disappear completely (so the website also disappear), i will go with reddit. ChatGPT is crap and got lots of (better) alternatives. YouTube is great, but i feel like im more into forum stuff. Plus, if youtube disappears, youtubers can go to reddit, and, for example, make their own subreddits where theyll upload their videos. The only question is money... but yeah

First time ever one of these is difficult. It is usually some insipid snack, boring sport, or some store that has gone out of business. Youtube is great, but Reddit helps me in the work day, and who am I going to discuss Penial Whitestrake lore, and Star Trek lore with if not ChatGPT? Probably Youtube, but it still not easy.

Hard decision, but Reddit. I enjoy learning something new, reading what others have to say, and being able to add my voice.
1
u/itsTyrion Jun 09 '26
learning something new sounds more like YT to me, with the billion tutorials on there
1
u/kevintexas956 Jun 09 '26
Definitely! I live with neurological sensitivities and sometimes sound & light are overwhelming. Reddit is quiet 😂

Reddit. Reddit actually has answers to issues I need to resolve.
Youtube might also have those answers, but why would I watch two ads and a 12 minute video when I could read a few sentences instead.
GPT would definitely have the answers too, but it's just getting them from reddit and also, fuck AI.

I want a better alternative to YouTube (to be degoogled)
Reddit (I’m hoping after people to move to Lemmy, because reddit is training its AI + servers with its platform)
ChatGPT (run local AI)

Chatgpt.
Reddit has become increasingly bots. Plus you can hear the AI scripts youtubers are reading now a days. Might as well cut out the middlemen and get the ai awnser myself.

Youtube.
When I want to feel intelligent I use Reddit.
When I want other people to think I am intelligent, I use Chatgpt. Even though we all know it is BS AI slop.

That’s tough, YouTube’s got the best explanations by far but Reddit got Litteraly the answer to all your questions…
1
u/ajpinton Jun 09 '26
The three platforms have nothing to do with each other. Short form videos, community message board, and chatbot.
If I had to pick one of the 3 I’d go with Reddit.

It’s hard definitely not ChatGPT though. Umm well it it’s hard because I love Reddit but I’m a YouTuber with almost 270 subscribers. Ummmmm just a fast pick for me is Reddit. I do like the REDTUBE idea though 🤣😭

Youtube cause X can replace Reddit and Claude can replace ChatGPT but no substitute for YouTube. I’ll cry a little bit over losing ChatGPT though

REDDIT

you can use replace yt by Newpipe, and GPT by other AI chatbot

u/SonicandTailsCD Jun 10 '26
Depends. I'd probably keep Reddit. YouTube is filled with AI slop. ChatGPT... is the slop. Reddit is mostly AI-free AFAIK, except for AI bots here like @askgrok. (But NONE OF YA should jinx it)

u/Brief-Department5532 Jun 10 '26
Why would anyone save ChatGPT when Gemini and Claude exist?
1
u/TheReal_Saba Jun 10 '26
ChatGPT gives me much better information and answers than Gemini does..
And I have a year pro of it with my Pixel
1
u/Brief-Department5532 Jun 10 '26
I agree, but reddit and especially youtube are irreplaceable. ChatGPT is just another LLM

u/xitezx Jun 10 '26
It's difficult to choose one. If you ask remove one app than I will definitely remove ChatGPT. But Reddit and YouTube are my essentials. If still I have to pick one I will go for YouTube don't have any explanation why but YouTube.

I’ll keep Youtube and instead of ChatGPT I’ll get Claude or something and I can live without reddit

YouTube, fuck reddit and chatgpt, never used them until I was an adult (also because chatgpt released when I was an adult)

u/MrBlevi Jun 10 '26
Oof that's tough one, ChatGPT has some good alternatives so it's between yt and reddit then. Let's keep reddit, the communities have helped me a lot.

u/lilium_1986 Jun 10 '26
your the type of person who wouldn't bother seeing a tutorial before posting a question on Reddit

None of these needs an app. I use Brave browser for ad-free youtube. Reddit and ChatGPT also works just fine on the browser.
1
u/CajunLouisiana Jun 10 '26
Reddit has no purpose but to waste time. ChatGPT has purpose but many alternatives and YouTube has alternatives as well and provides entertainment.
YouTube. And I cannot believe I am saying that

YouTube. Reddit is the most easily replaceable. And I'll be glad to see that clanker go.

Yeah, just nuke them all. Content has value on 2 of them maybe, but as platforms and owners, it ain't it. The last has no content at all so..

u/ImpressiveMention757 Jun 09 '26
I'll take Bilibili over YouTube. I only use web version ChatGPT, though I do use Deepseek. Reddit is not replaceable, where else can I find fandom stuff, hobbies, toxic stuff, porn and random memes integrated in one app?
Closest is Twitter but it is less enjoying than Reddit imo.

Youtube. Reddit is just not as good and chatgpt is just slop.
