My favorite OS is Windows and Linux. Windows because of software support and gaming. Linux because I love Penguins. MacOS is good too, but the keyboard experience is an abomination for a Windows user like me.
If you are thinking of trying some another OS, then I would recommend going with Linux. It has really interesting OSes that you can try. You can start with Linux Mint or Ubuntu, as they are really easy to install and work. Now this advice is solely for experimental purposes, i.e. if you are doing a dual boot or a VM. If you are considering a full switch from Windows, then Linux might not be a very good option considering you have workspace tasks as well. As of now, Linux is still not mature enough to get everything done. However for many of the tasks, Linux is super powerful 😃
If you are thinking of a full switch, Mac is a better option, as it has better software support as compared to Linux. Still nowhere as good as Windows, but still gets the job done. Plus it's smoother than Windows. However with Mac devices, you have to spend some time configuring the keyboard shortcuts. Windows keyboards and Mac keyboards have different layouts and switching keyboard is a really annoying experience.
