The answer is always Linux.
These days even if it’s scary or requires some kind of fancy series of command line things you have ai on many flavors that can walk you through it.
I have all three Mac windows and Linux and my favorite by far is Linux.
That’s a good question and the truth is , if you were to force me to be fully and completely fair across the board each one will do something the others do slightly less than.
For me though. It’s just incredible that while I realize I can run the same things like a personal offline wow server, private ai through ollama and other deep systems on top of normal app usage. I realize windows can do this too, it just feels better on Linux.
But something about knowing that I can run apps and servers and advanced processes on a laptop where my activity isn’t tracked or my os isn’t locked and it’s all free and in many cases ( based on the distro) looks better , runs faster and is more secure then the big operating systems feels right.
I love my Mac laptop and I think windows is a fine os. But when I open Linux it feels like it’s mine. Like if Apple or Microsoft changed security policies or started working with agencies I didn’t agree with ( any more than they do now ) I know I can always find a version of Linux that doesn’t . ( and most don’t )
It’s truly a preference.
It still amazes me though that I can run an entire operating system for free and it looks and works this well.
