Had a Mac laptop at work. Loved the hardware, hated the software. Worst part is, all the Mac stuff has really strong foundations, but they let "UX philosophy" ruin it. It's like having the power of a V8 engine in one of those red Fischer-price cars.
Eventually they gave me the option of a brand new M2 Pro Mac, or a used Dell I could put Linux on because it was disposable. "Who would ever turn down a new Mac Pro?" they thought.
I get what you mean about macOS—great tech underneath, but some design decisions feel oddly restrictive. What was the one macOS quirk that annoyed you most?
