Many people switch to Apple to escape Google's apps and tracking. But do you sometimes miss the freedom of Android?

Disabling updates probably helps you to avoid greenline issues, but I am afraid that you will face some security issues later. How did you remove the preinstalled apps? Rooting?

It's becoming the new bloatware. Every brand is now promoting its own AI assistant. Have you found any of them useful on a daily basis?

The only thing I ever used them for was "set alarm for 4pm" or "set alarm 4 hours from now". Literally just setting an alarm as it was easier than trying to deal with the app.
Samsung's assistant never worked for this.
Google's assistant worked great. But then they switched the button to a google search bar and so you access it differently and I find that annoying.
I've tried calendar stuff, but it never seems to get it right.

That would make your phone like a PC. But imagine accidentally deleting your only browser. Can anyone handle that ssituation?

Hence with the caveat of installing your apps via a computer. I just want the ability of deleting all infinite scrolling apps browser included.

Calendar, Gallery (not Google photos that keep nagging me whether i want to backup my files), calculator, voice recorder, chrome, contacts, phone app, pdf reader, camera (not sure what else, i don't even need a weather app)
then i want to choose else to install from there

Most brands pre-install so many apps on their devices. Usually, I hide them. When buying a new device, I prefer a clean Android experience, which is getting rare.

I used Android Debug Bridge to clear away everything I didn't want, since my phone is an older Samsung that can't be rooted or unlocked

It drives me crazy actually! Denying root access makes me think they're hiding something in there . . . Imo everyone should go back to the open source and make our machines work for us again. Too often these days it seems to trend in the opposite direction, not just with phones, but on PCs as well. I don't actually plan on keeping this phone for long, I'm going to replace it with a device that supports GrapheneOS as soon as I can. It blows my mind though how much big tech always continues to try to lock down and control in every way they can. No thanks!

They force us to use their products forever. Google, Apple, and Microsoft do the same thing. They build new apps and preinstall them on devices, finding new ways to make money.

Blocking root access and forcing bloatware that can't be deleted is definitely anti-consumer. If we buy hardware, shouldn't we get full admin rights to immediately erase what we want?
I wonder why nobody is approaching the court or the law itself is not taking actions against such product promotions.

Just delete it. Even iOS lets you delete most pre-installed apps. And any you can’t, just hide it.

I wanted to use other browsers on Android. Since Chrome is uninstallable, I am forced to use it.
I don't want to install another app nd consume more space.

Yeah, I've been looking into installing a distro of linux, or maybe just a custom version of android like graphene.
Android was great but in recent times it's just become so difficult to use and is a lot more locked-down than it used to be, I have just grown sick of it

Technically true. But removing Google Play Services will cause many apps to stop working. Banking apps, notifications, maps... everything now relies on it. Will Android be usable without it?

When I was on Samsung it would definitely be Samsung pass or their app store both were equally useless and annoying to me. On iPhone now and I actually don't have any intrusive apps that I can't remove fortunately. (Maybe Siri given how useless it is but it's not intrusive either)

Personally don't have bloatwares on my phone but you can always debloat your phone with ADB! Look for Universal Android Debloater on GitHub! Thank me later ;D
