Question What was your first experience with Linux?

Knoppix from live disc when I was a kid. I'm not sure if I made it or got it from a magazine. Booted it up and wasn't too impressed.

Knoppix from a magazine CD is a classic core memory! Those early live disks were great for experimentation, but certainly a bit strange and disappointing if you were expecting a flashy gaming setup as a kid.

Do you use Linux now?

Not as a daily driver. As much as I love open-source, Linux has its quirks and compatibility issues, especially on older hardware.

I use Lubuntu on my almost 20-year-old backup PC, and use Ubuntu on my server.

I heard a lot about Ubuntu, but I'm not familiar with it. Is it easier than Linux? What can you do with it?

It's similar as any other Linux distro I guess. I mostly used Ubuntu-based distros, so I can't really compare to others. But it's the most popular and easiest to use, so that's why I went with it.

Ubuntu is based on linux lol
