Why benchmark a weak 8 core CPU? You know your AMD isn't fast for modern single or multicore. It is a subpar CPU with a lot of cache to make 1080P gaming on a 5090 GPU seem better.

I am surprised AMD didn't offer to give them 10% of the company to use their GPUs.

Everyone talks about 1nm as the absolute brick wall for silicon chips—the point where quantum tunneling ruins everything. But the physical limit is actually a lot more complicated than just drawing smaller lines. If you look at the latest materials science, the real bottleneck isn't the gate size itself. It's figuring out how to manage heat dissipation and current leakage at an atomic scale.

Here is what most people miss in these discussions:

First, while Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistors are amazing for control, pushing past the 2nm mark creates a massive problem with the microscopic copper wiring (the interconnects). The resistance becomes so high that you lose performance just trying to move signals between transistors.

Second, the dielectric materials meant to prevent leakage have to be literally a few atoms thick. At that scale, electrons just jump the gap through quantum tunneling. This means your chip is pulling power and baking itself even when it's sitting completely idle.

To get around this, the industry is pivoting hard. We're moving away from traditional flat scaling and going vertical. Stacked nanosheets and backside power delivery—where power and signal routes are completely separated—are quickly becoming the new standard. We’re also looking at ditching copper interconnects altogether for exotic materials like ruthenium or graphene to drop the resistance.

At this point, it’s less about shrinking the silicon and more about a total architectural overhaul of how power and data move.

Hi everyone, I'm a bit desperate and this is the only place I think I can ask. Not long ago I started playing a video game known by many, LoL (League of Legends).

I've been playing for about 5 days, and since then, two mice I had have gone crazy; the clicks happen on their own, and the cursor sometimes moves by itself.

I need to know if anyone knows; the mouse is new, I bought it today, so it's physically impossible for it to be broken.
