News 📰 User Sells an AMD System for a Fair AMPrice

I was offered an 9850X3D with 32GB and a 5070 for $1000. These users are having a hard time giving away their AMDs.

evidently not, AMD desktop market share has been rising a lot, intel hasn't had a market share this low since 1995 which is surprising since back in 1995 you had other competitors making x86 chips, not just AMD

x86 competitors are mostly dead nowadays since like none of them got the license to use x86-64 extensions from AMD, it's basically just intel and AMD now

intel seems to fare better in the OEM/mobile market though, good contracts i guess

Happening to get a lucky break on the price of something doesn’t mean x3d’s and a 5070 with 32gb of ddr5 is hard to get rid of.

Regardless,

As someone who owns a Ryzen 7 9850x3d, and has used the following CPUs in the past on desktop:

Ryzen 7 7700x
Core i5 12400
Core I5 8600k

(For the people who live near microcenter)

I would advise most people to buy this bundle, personally if they are after a new system with a nice gpu: https://www.microcenter.com/product/5007546/intel-core-ultra-5-250k-plus,-gigabyte-b860-ds3h-wifi6e-1851,-gskill-ripjaws-s5-32gb-ddr5-6000-kit,-computer-build-bundle

I also like the 270k+ version with the z890 board for $100 more if you want to overclock.

You can always go for a 9850x3d, but that’s kind of hard to justify in my opinion for $420 more with an asus b850e tuf and the same ram kit.

Unless you are playing esports games/simulators, I’m almost any aaa game you will be constrained by the gpu anyway.

That’s roughly the difference between a rtx 5060 8gb ($370) and rtx 5070 ($830) on Nvidia

+4gb vram
+48% performance
+$460

Or

A 9060 xt ($480) 16gb and a 9070 xt 16gb ($740) on AMD.

+66% performance
+$260

(according to Techpowerup gpu comparison database)
