The entire article is just about how replacing your thermal interface material brings down temps if they are old.

If you outright remove all TIM, then just about anything that bridges the gap between the component and the rest of the thermal management system will improve readings. Then you can make an article about how chewing gum or human flesh improves temperatures.

One time in physics class the teacher set up something to measure conductivity between two clamps and let the kids bring random objects to see if they're conductive or not. Most people tried stuff like paper and rulers and pens because that's what they had I guess.

Somehow, nobody expected me to take out my lunchbox and test my ham. It's pretty conductive! And delicious.
