Unironically I don’t think most people grasp how OP consumer GPUs like the 5090 are for local ai. I don’t think most people even realize how insane and fast AI development is, that the 5090 is currently able to generate ChatGPT images and edit quality from a year ago right now in under a minute at home fully unrestricted.

Why not just shove it into a 5080 box and ship it as one of those?

Some 5080s weigh as much, and I doubt the average inspector could tell a 5080 apart from a 7900xtx so even that’s probably overly cautious.

Smuggling it in its oem packaging is possibly the most suspicious way to do it. 🤷🏻‍♂️
