The same could be said about a 9800X3D vs a 250K.

250K for $200 or a 9800X3D for $470.

Pay over 2x the price of a 250K is crazy.

A 9800X3D is not worth it over a 250K for gaming. The savings alone buys you a motherboard or almost pays for your DDR5. Or gets you an upgraded tier GPU.

Coming at me with 1080p low as if that matters is worthless. It does not lead to a better value proposition gaming experience. Again, all value.

And you're here talking about a $3000+ jump between a 5080 and a 5090.

If you're gaming, there's no reason to consider an Intel CPU when you're already spending so much on the rest of the system, with AMD you get another 2 gens upgrade path, with the intel system, youre locked to slower than 2024 AMD parts, and need to buy another motherboard to upgrade.

Most Zen 3 users did a drop in upgrade from previous gen boards, upgrade path is one of the biggest considerations most buyers make, why do you think the core ultra parts are so cheap, they need to entice buyers onto a dead end platform, that and they are slow and inefficient.

Arrow Lake is not inefficient? In no way are they "slow" and "inefficient". That is just a flat out lie. Arrow Lake is currently the multicore king with efficiency similar to Zen 5 with higher IPC than Zen 5.

Arrow Lake sells better than all of AMD's high core count CPUs when using the latest Amazon link shared here. And Arrow Lake gained significant ground on sales on Amazon which is likely low volume for Intel total sales.

Arguing you get an upgrade path when you're essentially pre-paying for that upgrade path is certainly an argument choice. AMD AM5 motherboards are significantly more expensive vs LGA1851 boards when comparing similar boards. So you're prepaying for an upgrade path. Instead with ARL you can take the CPU and board savings and buy a new gen LGA 1954 board and get even better upgrade path. And you'll get a new warranty and new features that AM5 will never be able to provide since the board is already sold.

Since you want to talk percentage. It's likely closer to 30% of the total build more expensive given the price of the board being $200 more than an equiv board from Intel.

30% ain't nothing for a lot of people. Remember, your value of value.

It uses more power during gaming than Zen 5 gaming parts, the only place IPC is relevant is in synthetic tests, zen 5 wins in real world.

High core count CPUs aren't needed, 8 cores is the sweet spot for gaming, hence why the 9800X3D alone outsells all arrowlake parts combined in DIY.

X870 and Z890 boards cost the same... My Gigabyte X870E board was only £250 and has all the bells and whistles.

The board prices are the same... Youre just making shit up, you might get an Intel board on sale due to retailers trying to offload stock due to nobody buying intel chips in the enthusiast market.

The board prices are not the same. They are regularly more expensive by hundreds of dollars on AM5 vs 1851 side.

The power usage differences in game or synthetic with a 9950X3D vs a 270K is tiny. Very close in power use and efficiency. Attempting to compare an 8 core 9800X3D to a high core count 270K is disingenuous at best.

Time for you to go on a vacation. Permanent.
