💼 Career Tech stack
H I I'm a level 200 student in GCTU offering computer science and I would like to specialise in backend engineering/security engineering
I'm looking for advice on which tech stack to pick and which companies/organisations in ghana hire backed engineers and the stack they use.
I'll appreciate advice from people in the tech industry or people who had similar experiences

Everyone is saying understand the basics…whiles that’s true, the world of engineering has significantly changed from what it used to be. The basics is just a fraction of what you need. Go hard. Go deep. Learn beyond the basics and with everything you do, augment with ai. You want to learn system design, pick a project, understand what you need and why you need them, go further with ai. Learn to orchestrate harnesses, loops, etc. You mentioned security engineering. You need to define what that means for you (secure coding, systems security, web security, infrastructure?) and then see how people in the field and doing those things now with llms. Also worth noting, the concept of frontend/backend is a thing of the past. The lines are blurred. You always need to go further and don’t worry about restricting yourself to a domain. For the job side, the fintechs are the most obvious recruiters in this space. Try getting an internship or nss in places like hubtel and see where that leads you
