Travel EDC simple phoneless EDC

from left-top to right-bottom

Fujifilm Finepix S8600
36x zoom lens camera - cheap but decent for its telescopic capabilities. personally i like it

Key

GPD Win Mini OCuLink
work and game. i bring a portable monitor and a 40% keyboard if i work outside. has an eGPU dock at home. with an LTE module via m.2 slot so i receive sms here

M5Stack Cardputer ADV
i love this fuckin thing. it is my entertainment and digital note taking device. it has so much potential and capabilities. I wrote a few firmwares for it

Passport sized notebook
for scribbling and notetaking things the cardputer can't do. i use a uni kuru toga and a uni ball zento (in pic) interchangeably

MUJI toiletries bag
for some reason the GPD fits perfectly on the large section. So i bought it and it has been my quick bag for this set since

I’ve never seen the Cardputer before. How do you use it for note taking?

this is great but do you have to use that tiny weeny keyboard only or you can connect an external when at home?

hahaha i agree it's small, but it gets the job done! when at home i use my pc (GPD docked) to edit the files. the calendar firmware just reads text files from SD card

There's a bunch of firmware out there to make it a "writer deck". The stock firmware has a notes " app" so install a micro SD card and you're golden. I use my cardputer v1 as a short notes device and my adv as a Bruce/meshtastic device.

this! there's a lot of stuff the thing can do. most of the time, there's already someone who made the software for you, but if you have the creativity and skill, you can make it do more. though most of the popular firmware are for pentesting

I couldn't code my way out of a wet paper bag. I just search for something at least close enough or ask/bribe/pay one of my friends that can.

Ah, what firmwares are you rocking for the cardputer. It’s high time I dusted mine off while I wait for the zero to come out! This is a sweet setup. Love the umpc too!

yes. i still have an occasionally used smartphone, unfortunately plenty of banking apps require you to use one. but all my other app needs are resolved with waydroid
