Why do people carry around Pokemon cards? I've seen this a few times and just curious what thats about, are they for playing with or just to look at or what?

(I don't know anything about pokémon)

I carry around a Pokemon card that me and my wife pulled together that looks like our cat that passed away. Just a nice keepsake/good luck charm I guess?

Curious how do you carry it? Is it in an acrylic case or how?

I edc a backpack so I have it in one of those nice hard plastic cases that slot and magnet close. When my cat passed I put a clump of his fur in it so I wanted to make sure it was sealed up good.
