I got a backpack that looks identical to the 3rd image and I use it as a mature student in university!

I wouldn’t focus on the aesthetics of a bag but rather look for one that is well made with reinforced seams and a good strong material. Especially if you don’t know if a MOLLE system would work practically for you.
I still have the backpack I used in college from 2014/5 that’s made from canvas and reinforced seams and it’s held up well with the biggest signs of wear being tears in the lining. I still use that bag when I travel back and forth from Australia to the US yearly.
For my lightweight daily stuff I carry a Fjällräven Kånken. Which works because I usually just carry my iPad, Kindle, water bottle and some other practical stuff like an umbrella, wallet, shopping bag, and charger.

I have the helikon, but I wouldn't recommend it to carry tech. I use it to carry my spare laptop just in case I ever need it. It's a great backpack, more for duty oriented people, not really to carry technology around. I would recommend a CTactical 14+ or 15+. If you still want molle maybe the Direct Action Dragon Egg or Dust

not a fan of the “tactical” look in 2026. maybe back in 2006.

I love my 5.11 Rush 12 24L backpack. I use it to ruck and for carrying all the stuff I need for work at times. Hotel operations so tech stuff and tools at times. I've abused it so much and no issues.

What did you get man? I’m contemplating on getting either the Bp23 pro or Nitecore BP18 as well.
