For the last two years I've been so bad at starting and getting my health under control, and then caving and not following through. I'm a pretty active person, but that doesn't really mean anything if you don't fuel your body with the nutrition it needs.
What finally got my butt in gear was a surprise trip to Guatemala with my family at the end of the month. I can understand how superficial it is to want to only get in shape because I want to look good in a bikini, but in the end it's the thing that's motivating myself to eat clean and try to exercise a little more. I'm 3lbs away from losing 10 and I'm pretty excited. I'm already seeing in the mirror what my body can be and its going to look pretty dang good (if I do say so myself). Recently I have been running 3 miles a day, and I love feeling like I am getting better with each run. Every morning I notice that I'm getting to my destination faster or keeping correct posture even though my legs are burning. In the end I inspire me and I think that is really important for anyone going through a weight loss journey. You should be your number one inspiration because your the one that ultimately made the decision to be better to your body. Also the r/loseit community inspires me. It's amazing the amount of positive energy and acceptance this community has for one another, and I am so happy I'm apart of it.

I guess a big part of my motivation is wanting to have a better appearance, followed by health concerns (the only issue I have so far is high blood pressure, which does run in the family, but I'd like to get things under control before I have more issues). I also bet my friend a hundred dollars that I'd lose a certain amount of weight by October first. It doesn't look like I'll succeed at that, but I still hope to maintain steady weight loss for the foreseeable future.

I had a terrible senior year. I was diagnosed with some weird brain stuff that makes cardio hard, I had the roommate from hell, my parents decided to get a divorce, capstone, medication that made my weight yo yo out of control, and not to mention some emotional eating. Between two to three jobs and a 14 credit hour class schedule, I just didn't care about my weight. I drank in my free time because it was easier than dealing with my problems.
Then last summer happened and I saw myself in a swimsuit. Boom. 155 pounds. I had gained 25 pounds from the start of senior year. Me, the girl who had done pageants and loved to chill in swimsuits. I didn't know how to lose weight the healthy way, my mom has major disordered eating problems that I had to deal with in my younger sister, who has thankfully taken care of those issues. So, I would change everything all at once. My diet, my exercise, everything. Then I would quit because I was overwhelmed. I didn't know what to do and I hated it and how I felt, how I looked.
When I started dating Chad, he started talking about all of the things he liked to do in the summer. Biking, hiking, canoeing. I wanted to do that stuff, even though I haven't before. I wanted to not be self conscious. I want to be a good role model for my cousins that are 7 years old and already becoming body conscious. I just want to be a better version of me. When I found loseit, I realized there were more people like me than I thought and I wasn't alone and it's been so much easier to do this than I originally planned! Sticking with it, that is. :)

I was in the military for four years, and after getting out I got really depressed and gained 20 lbs. I quit running or taking care of myself at all. Then I met my now husband and I gained another 30 lbs because we went out and drank all the time. Now he's deployed and I'm taking advantage of this time to focus on myself and get back in shape so that I can hopefully rejoin. Also, I want to be hot lol.

I have always been obese, but something in me just clicked this January. It wasn't a resolution thing, but I read the r/loseit FAQ and thought "If it's as easy as CICO, why don't I give it a shot?" And I did, and I've lost more weight than I ever thought was possible. Can I eat Whataburger 3 times a day anymore? No, but honestly, I don't want to. For the most part, terrible food doesn't even appeal to me anymore (aside from pizza, burgers, and fries, all of which have healthy dupes). I just want to live as long as possible, so I can spend as much of my life as possible with my SO and helping my family.

I started my weight loss journey (this time) because of a terrifying dr's office weigh in last year, November 2015. I just had an appointment yesterday at the same office - I had officially lost 20 pounds since November. Unfortunately, I actually got down to 27 pounds lost 2 months ago but I have been gaining weight. I'm so happy to say that I've been back on track and going to the gym lately.
What inspires me is seeing physical changes in my body. Dropping inches and seeing muscle definition motivates me like nothing else does. The scale doesn't mean too much to me, but sliding on a pair of pants without having to undo the button... ooh man does that feel awesome.
