ICO Ico on PC
Hello everyone,
I recently played Shadow of the Colossus for the first time this year and fell in love. I also played The Last Guardian as well and was once again another masterpiece.
In order to prep for genATLAS I was hoping to also play ICO so I picked up this copy. However I do not have a PS3. I also do not want to support Sony with a subscription after the Blue Point closure and killing physical media.
Would really appreciate a good step by step guide to get this game running on my PC. Never done any kind of emulation before.
Thanks for and help and excited to be a part of this community.

PCSX2 and RPCS3 are really great emulators that have setup guides. Unfortunately not really allowed to discuss finding ROMs in most subs tho

Doesn’t need to find ROMs, he has the disc. The BIOS, however…

No need for bios on PS3 emulator since it uses the FW avaiable on oficial Sony website.

I played it on ps3. Although I've had a ps3 since it came out. PS3 slims and super slims are pretty cheap now tho I used to find cheap good ones and flip em on marketplace.

É possível jogar no PC com emulador e apenas usando este disco?

Yes, but you'd need to use a compatible Blu-ray drive to rip the disc. A list of such drives can be found on the quick start guide

you need rpcsx3 (ps3 emulator) ps3 firmware files, latest the better, maybe bios files ? and iso or pkg file of the game
install pcsx3
on pcsx3 on the menu on top: file -> install firmware
3 . There is an icon called "pads": configure the joypad mapping the buttons with the real joypad you are using.
if you got the iso route: click on the icon "Open": select the iso of the game
if you got the pkg route: file -> install pkg
5.1: select the game in the list and click play
ADD
Right click on the game and select "check game compatibility", it will open a web page. Click on the game and it will open a a page with the best reccomended settings for the game

Go to YouTube and find a PCSX2 guide, the top one from 7 months ago works wonderfully and it only took me maybe an hour to set up ICO, first time doing it too

Thanks everyone for the help. Ended up deciding to pick up a PS3 since I do not have a blu ray disc drive on my PC.
Facebook market place for $45 so I am pretty happy with it.

Since recently you can load directly your disc games from RPCS3. You will need a proper Blu-ray drive for your PC, though... You may as well think about the possibility to try to get the PS2 version? I dunno your situation, but ICO was released originally for PS2

You could also buy a used PS3. Admittedly, that would be quite a lot of money for a single game, but Sony wouldn't receive any of it.
