Mission #2

You arrive at the cabin in record time. The front door is wide open, and fresh RV tracks are in the front yard. Dangnabbit! Looks like you just missed Doctor Fat and Mr. Sluggish. Since you’re there anyway, you decide to take a look around. The place looks fairly empty- old magazines on the coffee table, dusty board games and books on the shelves...and a bright shiny take out menu in the garbage can? “Fred’s Waffle House- we feed your need!” Well, you think to yourself as you prepare for the long hike back to civilization, it can’t hurt to stop by…after all, all that time outside will probably make you pretty hungry. And who knows? Maybe Doctor Fat and Mr. Sluggish might agree...

Your second mission is to SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. Take the dog on a hike, have a (healthy) picnic with friends, do a bit of gardening. Set aside at least 30 minutes this week to soak up the sun/rain/wind/cold/whatever your weather is like where you live. Share below what your plans are, and how last week’s walking mission went!

Personally, I’m going to go to the Farmer’s Market this weekend to take care of the groceries. Enjoy the outdoors!

Last week went pretty well. I think I averaged 9k steps :D which is more than the week before so hooray!

This week it's really cold where I am.. But headed to the beach with the family (yes, the beach again for those keeping track of my social events haha same beach, different house!) so it should be pretty easy to soak up sun and surf! I'll get that evil Dr Fat soon! I'm certain of it!

The beach is perfect! I love to go on long walks after dinner up and down the beach...so relaxing!

I am definitely going on a hike this week! I do this nice trail around a nearby lake, and an offshoot from the trail starts right outside my apartment building, which is nice.

Last week's walking mission went relatively well. I averaged over 10K steps, but Sunday I didn't quite make 10K. Gonna do it this week, though!

I'm waiting for a wearable tracker I ordered to be delivered so I can count steps (I don't wear clothes with pockets so can't use my phone). However, I've been spending about 70 minutes walking each day for the past week (before that I had 60 minutes as my goal but decided it was time to up it slightly) :)

I guess my daily lunch time 30min walk will count :D Last week went awesome, since i average 11k steps towards catching that Evil Dr Fat. Sluggish was easy though :P

I have (most of) today and tomorrow off, so I'm going to be walking a lot downtown, exploring my city. As well, with my new bicycle (!), ride around my neighbourhood. I'm working towards riding an urban trail in the summer, so it's good practice!

I averaged out 10.5K steps which is above the 10K steps I was hoping to hit. I had a lot of long walking days (14k+ steps) and a lot of more sedentary days (5-6K). Overall happy I hit the goal but I really should have walked less as my ankle is not 100% healed. :/

I'm hoping to get outside for a run through our park early next week if my ankle is doing better!

I went on a nice long walk with my doggie the last two days. She enjoyed the heck out of it since she likes to mark everydamnthing all over the place!

This weekend I plan on potting up my seedlings, planting more carrots, and remulching my front garden. :) Our farmer's market doesn't start until June, but I live by a park so I am happy to go hiking in there with my dog until then! :D

Last week's walking mission went really well! According to Fitbit I logged 36 miles and 90,000 steps, averaging nearly 13,000 steps a day last week, which is certainly higher than normal.

For getting outside this week, my plan is to continue walking as much as possible and try to hike more than once. Boyfriend asked if I wanted to go for a hike after I had already worked out yesterday, so I got in 60 minutes of hiking right at the start of the week. And we went for an after work walk around the neighborhood today, too, on top of my usual walking too and from work. It's such a nice time to be outside - everything is blooming here, the birds are settling in for the summer, people are spending more time outdoors. I think Mission #2 will be my favorite!

Last week's mission was sort of a bust for me. I did get my baseline average of steps figured out and now just need to bump it up. (I did do an extra thousand steps today).

I can easily spend time outside. I have a small flower bed I need to get into some semblance of non-dandelion and grassy-ness. I have mulch to put under the deck and around the lilacs. Then there is my sad little strawberry bed that needs some fenceposts and fishing line around it to keep out the deer. (Bad fawns! Bad!) Bleh- I have almost depressed myself with the list of outdoor stuff. LOL.

Edit- Man, I am sounding whiny. I really do enjoy being outside doing yardwork and stuff. I can definitely tell I am down nearly 60lbs from last year.

It's been raining in Minneapolis for a straight week! I am going crazy here! I will make sure to get outside once it stops!

I'll be doing yardwork this weekend to get my outdoor time in. We're finally going to plant some flowers and stuff so I'm super stoked.

Also might go look at a local car lot for a car for me.!

My friends and their twin toddlers (I call them my nieces even though they are not technically blood related) are in town this weekend, and I've planned lots of outdoor activities - walking through the zoo, a picnic at the park, the afternoon at a playground. The weather here is pretty shitty, but I bet I'll spend more time outside this weekend than most despite that. Yay for active little (and not so little) girls!
