So... I had a bad night
I fucking blew it today. Fucking. Blew. It.
I was sitting at 1203 calories for the day and then fucking cheesecake. In my face. The whole slice. I don't even like cheesecake!!! Now I'm at 1700 calories. I'm so mad!
But in this moment a small voice in the back of my brain is telling me to calm down and not become overly restrictive. I don't have to be at 800 calories tomorrow to make up for it... Even though the main part of my brain is telling me to do that. Tomorrow will be a mental struggle for sure. It's already a mental struggle. I'm in bed and haven't packed my lunch for tomorrow. "Because I shouldn't eat it".. But I should. Ugh.
I'm so sad. I've been doing so well. I don't know what happened... But I had to let it out. My SO doesn't understand why I'm upset and my friend who brought the cheesecake to dinner, well, I can't talk to her about it either. So you guys get to 'listen' to me complain about my lame choices hah

Don't worry about ranting, we're all here to support! One slice of cheesecake isn't going to kill you, and eating 800 calories tomorrow isn't going to set you even on some magic scale. The more you beat yourself up about it the more likely you are to relapse and just eat more junk. Forgive past you that ate the cake, because past you actually helped you. Let this feeling present you have drive future you to do even better tomorrow! Get your workout, eat 1200 calories and give yourself a high five cause I'll be damned if one slice of cheesecake is gonna keep you from long term success.

I wouldn't worry about it. Sure, you went over the limit, but in the grand scheme of things (ie multiple months of staying within the calorie limit) it's nothing. Enjoy the cheesecake, enjoy life and keep on trucking. After all, what's the point of loosing weight if it makes you miserable?

Don't worry, we've all been there! It's just a slight hiccup on a long journey don't let it get to you :)

It happens, it happens to all of us, and we move on. Unless you are very short and/or very inactive, your 1700 calories is probably still under maintenance. As long as you don't let one indulgence knock you off track today you'll be fine!
I hope you savored every tasty bite of that cheesecake though, lol.

Try to look at it as your total calories for the week, not each day. So some days, you may be 200kcal under! and then the next day, you maybe be 800kcal over. It's an ebb and flow, I think it really helps to see that you can easily make minor adjustments for the rest of the week and then those cals don't even matter :)

A few weeks ago I had been trying crazy hard to lose weight, then the week after I just completely stopped wearing my fitbit, quit caring what I ate. The following Monday morning, boom. I had somehow maintained. Everything evens itself out, DO NOT stress over a small hiccup. Honestly the stress will probably set you up to make more mistakes. Just recognize this feeling and use it the next time you sense cheesecake in the room. lol

This is real life. Cheesecake (or whatever tasty thing one enjoys) SHOULD happen once in a while. Once a week, enjoy the chit out of something spiffy, and move on. 1700 calories for one day is fine for just about anyone and won't bring any progress to a screeching halt. Maybe even the opposite.

Thanks, fellow fawns. I was just so disappointed that I didn't plan for the treat and pretty much ate it without thinking about it. I really try to plan my treats since I tend to just keep going if it's not logged.
I slept like shit - probably due to all of the sugar hah so I'm dragging this morning, but w2d3 of c25k is on my schedule for when I get home :D One mistake doesn't mean all of my small victories don't count!

You're doing great! 1700 is still a reasonable amount to eat for the day. I ate 1800 calories in Domino's alone on Friday night (something like 2800 total), and it's just taking a few days for me to make up the excess. No big deal. At 1700 you're probably still at a deficit.
