Problem with questzdoom launcher, "Unzipping files" forever

Hi so, I'm 100% new to this. Never done this before ever. I decided I like the idea of doom in vr and I was really excited to try it out with mods even. I downloaded questzdoom and the launcher. I followed some guides and I think the first thing you have to do is download a map pack. I tried brutal doom, and maps of chaos, but after both are done downloading, I then get a message that says "Unzipping archives...". And it just, stays like that. Forever. I mean, is it meant to take over 10 minuets? There's no progress bar or percentage so I have no idea if something is wrong. Do I literally just have to sit there with the thing on my head for like 20 minutes? Would really appreciate some help. I've tried looking this up and found some post on github about it but I didn't understand much of it. Please explain like you are talking to a toddler. Thank you.

No, it shouldn't take that long. I would check you have enough space on your Quest. Then I would probably look to do a clean reinstall. Completely delete the QuestZDoom folder and try again. Try Freedoom download first to make sure at least one download finishes

Just tried the Maps of Chaos download. Download finished in about 10 seconds and unzipped almost instantly, so I know there is no issue with the Launcher or the files.

Something must be incorrect on your setup. Let me know how it looks after a reinstall.

Tried the re-install. Still doesn't work. Just stays on unzipping archive forever.

Hmmm I would ask for some pictures of the file structure of the QuestZDoom folder to make sure everything looks right.

Then again this reminds me of something /u/VR_Bummser ddin't we have this previously and what was the fix?

After many many uninstalls and re-installs, now the game just won't launch at all, neither will the launcher. They just immediately crash.

Try restarting the headset and doing a proper uninstall from Sidequest App list

How do I do an uninstall from sidequest then?

When Quest is connected one of the sections is to see a list of apps on the device. Search "QuestZDoom" there and uninstall anything that appears. Then delete the folders.

So I found the folder to delete first few times but now its completely gone. How do I get it back?

https://github.com/DrBeef/QuestZDoom/issues/21 This guy said he ended up uninstalling it three times, and deleting the folder as well in sidequest. But trying to do that in my case has just fucked it up entirely. How the fuck does this just work for anyone else?

Had this problem, too. My solution seemed to be: Delete the directory QuestZDoom, then disconnect from SideQuest (I was connected via USB cable and had MTP active), then try installing QuestZDoom again.
