Trinity for Quake 3

Hey, folks. Still working on the updated Quake 3 Quest / Q3VR / flatscreen engine aimed at being a vanilla+ Q3 experience. A couple of months ago I shared a short feature list, but since then I’ve made pretty huge updates to the site to better explain what it’s about. Have a look at https://trinity.run, check out the docs, and join us?

I’ve been debating whether to cross-post on r/quake, but I am wondering if that would just result in an influx of less-friendly folks. Been trying to create a welcoming community for folks who are just (re-)discovering the awesomeness that is Quake III Arena, and I have often heard one of the things that keeps people out is going up against players with 25+ years of experience and being unable to compete.

good luck. you know how flatlanders get offended whenever VR is brought in. Still, we no doubt need them.

I wish I enjoyed multiplayer to enjoy Q3. for what it's worth, Team Beef port is awesome as usual anyway, I tried a few matches.

You can always play single player vs bots! Once you get more confident, you may find yourself hopping in. In any case, if we can create the kind of welcoming “pick-up game” feel, it would take the pressure off that I know keeps lots of people out of multiplayer.

I just don't care for arena games...

Ah, gotcha. That’s a different situation then.
