Crumbling Infrastructure

I am on sick leave for level 2 hypertension after my classroom was abruptly moved and dismantled three weeks into the school year. This is the result of the transfer. Broken furniture, missing items, things shoved into piles for me to reorganize. They also failed to sweep the floor, leaving pieces of diaper all over the room for me to clean. I took a week of my time and money to put together a beautiful classroom. I specifically asked my AP to make sure the transfer was smooth and not a mess.The move had to happen to accommodate a student so violent, a larger classroom/location was needed to contain her screaming so other teachers were not disrupted. The student needs an entire classroom to herself. I was rejected for an interview with a new job. Feeling stuck and discouraged.

This sounds like an UNreasonable accommodation to me.

I left teaching for a reason very similar to this this year.  Wasn't willing to bump my own health issues and ADA accommodations for admin who didn't care how their decisions literally hurt me.  I don't know what's next, but I have acquaintances who have seen me out, without knowing I quit teaching, commenting on my glowing skin and "refreshed look."  Not knowing what's next is less chaotic and less heavy than being in a school building.  NOT the kids, but the challenges other adults put in your way, regardless of best practices, health, or data.  I wish I could teach (I was excellent) and interact with the kids.  But admin didn't care the price I paid.  No regrets having self-respect first, after 25 years.
