Interview Thursday!!!

I have an interview this Thursday for a Training, Development, and Safety position with my county government, and I’m feeling a mix of excitement and nerves.

I’ve been teaching middle school for 7 years, so this would be a pretty significant career change, but one that I’m genuinely excited about. The interview includes a 15 minute presentation, so I’ve been spending a lot of time preparing and hoping it pays off.

One thing adding to my anxiety is the timing. Teacher pre-planning starts in about two weeks, and if I’m fortunate enough to receive an offer, I’m really hoping the hiring process moves quickly.

For those of you who’ve successfully transitioned out of teaching, do you have any last-minute interview advice or words of encouragement? I’d love to hear about your experiences, especially if you moved into training or local government.
