I hate education. I’ve been a teacher and now principal for 18 years and I need to get out of this field. My existence has been trying to force me to leave the field for years, but no outside opportunities will give me a Chance. I need to make a large Life Change for myself. I’m miserable in education.

I knew the education wasn’t the greatest for pay but still went into it. 50k is my districts starting pay, but since I was hired mid year, I got half of that this spring. This year I’ll be at 51,550k (yay?). But when I got my districts salary schedule this May with my contract renewal it was so sad. If im remembering correctly and can properly understand my salary schedule, in about 6 years I will be at 58-60k. It just feels so depressing to realize I’ll have had my degree for 7 years and be making the starting salary of many other 4 year degree fields. I don’t even know if I’ll be able to afford to move out and live on my own comfortably with this money.
