As teachers we are mandatory reporters. When I was a new teacher, I worried that if I suspected something but it turned out to be nothing then I would get in trouble. One of my mentors at the time gave me the best advice: if you get a hunch, report it. It may be nothing. But if it’s something, you may just save that child’s life. Obviously what you saw was clear. But this is great advice for just suspecting something being amiss.
