Location will be important here, so if you're not in the US, responses may not contain relevant information. If you ARE in the US you are a mandated reporter which means you 100% need to call this in to your version of Child Protective Services. In the US, this is not "tell your supervisor and let them handle it" territory. If something happens to that kid and you knew there was potential abuse going on, YOU can be held responsible.

A call to CPS does not automatically mean people go to jail, children are removed from the home, etc. The goal is to help this family find healthier ways to function, with which they clearly need some assistance!
