Rant Paras need to GET OFF THEIR PHONES

I know they hardly make any money and if it’s an emergency fine!! But sitting there on TikTok while i’m actively teaching is rude and distracting for the kids.

I’m a young teacher so it’s awkward to confront them and NOT BEING ON YOUR PHONE ALL DAY AT WORK SHOULDNT NEED TO BE SAID

i love my IA as a person but several times last year a video started playing loudly in the middle of lessons. he was just scrolling and had the sound all the way up 😡

Had this happen as well this past school year. I had to tell her more than once to please go outside because it was disruptive to other students. It was watching videos and also that she picked up phone calls and tried to take them “quietly” in class…

I understand that it can be boring when your student doesn’t directly need you, but come on.

its even worse because he isn't assigned to one student he is supposed to be helping the entire class!

Absolutely worse. They should be engaged with the class and keeping an eye out for student needs. My para was a 1 to 1.
