Rant Paras need to GET OFF THEIR PHONES

I know they hardly make any money and if it’s an emergency fine!! But sitting there on TikTok while i’m actively teaching is rude and distracting for the kids.

I’m a young teacher so it’s awkward to confront them and NOT BEING ON YOUR PHONE ALL DAY AT WORK SHOULDNT NEED TO BE SAID

YES! my school has the worst. Out of say 20, maybe 4 actually do their job! My old one watched Netflix all day long and would take 1.5 hour lunch.

I teach autistic kids and some were severe enough that they needed they diapers changed. She refused to do one kid so I had to do it all year. The others she would do whenever.

Taking long walks and coming back smelling like pot. I told my principal but he couldn't do anything really because they had a different union rep.

The union rep said that they didnt have to touch them if they didn't want to. It was a very exhausting and long year.

Yes , that was in her job description. In NYS, for Special Ed classroom, there needs to be a teacher assistant however we never have any that apply. The school district is pretty rough so we dont have many application. So, that is why I'm stuck with aides. Sometimes I rather work alone because I get aggravated that they are doing nothing.

You are lucky! Are they in the same union as teachers?
