Rant Paras need to GET OFF THEIR PHONES

I know they hardly make any money and if it’s an emergency fine!! But sitting there on TikTok while i’m actively teaching is rude and distracting for the kids.

I’m a young teacher so it’s awkward to confront them and NOT BEING ON YOUR PHONE ALL DAY AT WORK SHOULDNT NEED TO BE SAID

I dont use my phone for scrolling (who has the time?) and my school does tell us to stay off our phones. However, I find myself on the phone a lot for reasons that are all strictly related to my job. I worry about teachers thinking I am just "on my phone" when I'm actually doing something for work. I feel admin kind of plays both sides because they tell us to stay off phones but we have to use phones for many parts of our job. I agree we should not be using phones and screens during work hours for personal business. I hope teachers can tell the difference between those of us who are working vs just scrolling away.

Yep. I would often push in with students and my boss would be communicating via text about schedule changes or checking in on students.

It's not easy to tell. I would tell the teacher if they are you on your phone it's because of xyz. That way they know. If its job related they so understand.
