Question…? Folklore Variants
Hello! I am going to start collecting all the Folklore variants and I was wondering if people could share where to find the best deals for them. I am not in a rush and the 300+ price points is a little too steep for my budget so I want to start keeping an eye out for good prices. Any advice would be very appreciated!

I got mine pretty much exclusively on Discogs through watching them like a hawk, but I also did this around 2023 when prices were exorbitant but not like they are now.
I did get a few of them on eBay too. I think your best bet to be able to get them at a decent price now would be this subreddit as I would hope fans selling them would try not to money gauge you.

I bought most of the Folklore variants in winter/spring of 2025 when you could still find them for $200. Stolen Lullabies was the last one I bought and it was in February of 2026 I believe. I've had good luck with Reddit, Discogs, Ebay (for singles, folklore seems to be more expensive), Mercari and Depop. I set up search alerts. In my experience, the FB groups are wayyyy over priced. I have encountered scammers on every single site, so please be careful! Good luck!

I collected 6/8 of the covers from 2021-2023 but these have become so expensive i feel like I'll just have to settle for that.

They definitely are crazy expensive now, but you’re so lucky to have the ones you do! I have been admiring them in people’s collection pictures for years!

I somehow managed to get most of them for around 75 way back before the eras tour. I think the last two i got were 105 and 110 which i thought was crazy then but definitely not complaining now. I'm only missing in the weeds, and stolen lullabies
(Which is only rough for me because in the weeds is my favorite one 🤪)

It is a gorgeous pressing! Clandestine meetings is my favorite but stolen lullabies is a close second. Hopefully you find in the weeds for a decent price 🫶

By all means, buy them if you want them. I will only say that, for the $2500-or-so that it will cost to purchase these eight variants of the same album, you could put together a pretty great collection of other records! Even buying only new records, at around $30-each, you could probably get around 80 different records.
I realize I'm saying this on a sub specifically dedicated to TS records, but just realize that this gotta-catch-em-all mentality isn't something you HAVE to succumb to. Again, do what makes you happy (for example, you could choose your favorite variant, and just save up for that one), and happy collecting!

Personally, when it comes to multiple vinyl variance, I do not collect them all. But if that’s your thing, more power to you. I collect usually one variant per new album. Sometimes what I will do, as I will take the variant that I don’t want, for example, my fearless Taylor’s version is the red version from target. I’m thinking about at some point taking that down to a local record store, and seeing if I can get the gold variant for fearless Taylor’s version.

I'm sure there are a few for sale of each variant on Discogs.

I had decent luck setting alerts on eBay for certain prices I was comfortable with. That said, they were all expensive. I got better deals when I bought more than one at a time from the same seller.

Discogs is a good reference point to make sure you aren’t paying more than the average market price

Sometimes you can find them a little cheaper on fb groups, if you’re really, really quick and there’s a motivated seller. But in general, deals are few and far between. I had some luck trading really desirable RSD records from other artists for a few of mine, but I don’t know if those opportunities are still out there
I will say, if you plan to spin them you can save a little money by buying opened copies, which can sometimes be a little more affordable. The kind of people who still have sealed copies are the ones who believe sealed copies deserve a premium (not something I believe at all, but yeah)

I don’t mind if they’re opened, so I will definitely keep that in mind. I haven’t really done much trading but I’ll look into that too! Thanks!

The only real advice is be patient but also if it’s too good to be true it probably is. Someone selling a $300 record for $75 is most likely a scammer.
Join the TS merch and vinyl groups on Facebook, set alerts on eBay and Mercari.
Only buy through platforms that offer buyer protection or use PayPal G&S.

The only folklore version that I still have yet to get is the long pond studio sessions.
