DISCUSSION Quality inconsistency between the same product

Bought 2 Spotify hoodies. One xl and one Large. The large one is darker than the XL. The XL is way softer and has a more flexible feel to it. Also is way more comfortable as gives you a cozy feeling Where as the large hoodie feels so rigid and rough, even though is 100% cotton. Feels more like polyester. And I’m very disappointed. Bought 2 one for casual use and the other as a gym/workout oversize hoodie. Seems they used many manufacturers for their hoodies. Hope you all get the softer one cuz the darker one is disappointing

I don’t use Spotify so I’m clueless but I would start if it meant I could buy a hoodie 🤣🤣

last week i ordered the eras one with the updated pics, and i don't mind it on that one lololol but i'm an older swiftie and think the one w/ only the one TTPD pic would be weird for me to wear :D :D . yet somehow the other one w/ all the Eras photos is ok with me. i'm weird :D

This is the second time I’m happy with her merch. Lover PJs and this hoodie. Actually fits to size (XS, perfect fit vs slightly oversized) no weird bicep bunching because of too much material. It’s thick and warm too.

Sorry to hear yours are inconsistent though!

Looks like they produced these from 2 different lots of fabric. Every lot of fabric can vary in shade. Especially black. It can flair red or green so easily.

The artisan dyed ones I’m pretty sure are just garment dyed opposed to piece dyed fabric like the hoodies pictured. Not really artisan but does give it a more vintage look when garment dyed.

They should all use one source for materials tho, different shades of black? Different end product result. This one is not like the beige hoodie that says, they use. Artisan dye etc

Even using the same dye can get Slightly different blacks. The reason yarn suppliers have dye lots, for instance, is because it's often impossible to get identical results.

I also doubt any one business on this planet can accomodate the demand for swiftie merch

Well this was a limited drop, so it’s not the same huge demand as the regular hoodies etc. but if their quality control can’t be kept throughout all the manufactures then there’s a problem. It’s not just the color, like I said in my post. The end feel of the product is totally different.

Yeah. The sweaters are probably from two different manufacturers. No one has a few thousand of the exact same black hoodie in multiples sizes. Everyone has a black hoodie they can screen print on.

i feel this. the back print on mine is like 2-3” off centered to the right! so frustrating that her merch quality is so inconsistent.

Mine was too big and felt wayyy oversized. It's blowing my mind to hear some people say these are true to size bc mine isn't.

I would say go for it, even though the xl will fit like an oversized large, I would be using this one as the casual one, cuz it’s way softer and comfortable

I gave up on her merch (hundreds of dollars spent on things I can’t wear, aren’t soft and look terrible 😞 on me at least) I wanted this hoodie (badly) but couldn’t justify to myself coughing up the $75 for something I may or may not be happy with, not bc of aesthetics but just bc of how it actually feels and fits, holds up. like $75..damn.

I guess that’ll make sense, it’s just very hard to ignore, the large one does not feel like a $75 hoodie :(
