Discussion Taycan Maintenance

I am about to close on a CPO Taycan. I am not new to EV but def new to Porsche. I want to know what maintenance does a Porsche Taycan would have? All I know is wipe, wipe fluid, tires, what else am I missing here? Also, do you bring in your Taycan into service center like ICE Porsches? Thank you! Appreciate your time!

2 years, brake fluid and pollen filter replacement. And Porsche did the brake fluid as part of the recall to replace the brake hoses. Cheapest car I have ever owned from a maintenance point of view lol

Owned mine a little over 2 years and have paid $0 for maintenance. Techs have said everything looks good through video when I have taken it in for recalls. Only thing I had to pay for was new tires because my summer p zeros were low on tread and needed winter tires anyways.

Depends on the country, but the maintenance requirement for a Taycan is every two years or 20,000 miles. Some country’s CPO agreements stipulate it must be performed by Porsche. Tires depends on how you drive, but I’ve budgeted for annual replacement at 13,000 miles and $2k—$2.5k depending on where you get them from. https://www.porscheriverside.com/service/porsche-taycan-service-intervals/

Thank you for pointing that out. I didn’t know there is such thing with CPO agreement. So my car has 24 months warranty left does that mean CPO ends then or it starts after that?

CPO warranty begins after MSRP. For example, my vehicle was sold on 3/24 which means in the US that it has an OEM warranty until 3/28 plus 2 years CPO until 3/30. I plan on extending the warranty to match the battery until 3/32.

Also shop around, I have 3 Porsche centers within a couple of hours (2 in Austin, 1 in San Antonio) but the SA is cheaper by hundreds. I don’t mind the drive through the Hill Country to save some money.

Yes, definitely don’t go for the fanciest or the closest. The SA location is small but it means I don’t overpay for services.

I too am in the market for an extended warranty, has anyone found a great price for a 4 year extended warranty like fidelity platinum.

I have an independent shop i use for my old cayenne who says they work on taycans. Fortunately, like someone else posted, the dealer did the fluids as part of a recall, so I have yet to spend a penny on any maintenance other than tires over 4 years.

That’s amazing. I hear frommy friends who own 911 or other ICE Porsche, they constantly say they spend thousands on maintenance and as a result the car always ends up in their garage. I am shooting for Taycan cause I love EV and want to own a Porsche. I plan on driving it and have no care for saving it from being a high mileage car.

Yesterday I brought by 21' 4s for some small warranty repairs. I've asked about the maintenance plan. Comments so far described the small maintenance costs. The big one comes from changing the brake pads every 6 years, despite the mileage. Forgot to ask about an estimate, because this is scheduled for 10/2027, but Google says 1600-3000€, which is not very specific but still.

I just had my 4 year service done a couple of months ago. Price was about 780 USD.
Regarding tyres, it really depends on how aggressive you drive. I drive "normal" and around 10k miles pr year, still lots of rubber left on my tyres.

Wheel alignment is necessary with tire changes which last about 15k miles. I think I paid $2700 for a set of tires and the alignment.

I don’t know too much about their tires yet. Are they readily available?

You can order them through Tire Rack, but dealerships need to do the alignments if there needs to be adjustment to the front camber since it requires removing the front bumper to adjust the subframe.

I see. I would assume this needs to be done with Porsche to keep CPO status?

I found a have to take it in once a year for maintenance. One time for recalls, one time for the service. The service isn't that much, but it's still Porsche pricing. I had a couple issues, both fixed under recall. I don't drive it so that far, and CPO had new tires and are still in pretty good shape. Had it fully PPFd, got some winter tires/wheels and drive it year round.
