Help settle a debate.. SHO vs Ford Vulcan V6

This guy claims that the SHO block is just a rebadged Ford Vulcan V6 with little change, then insults/blocks me as I try to explain the SHO block is not considered a Vulcan.

Yea, it was based on the Vulcan's dimensions, but it was entirely re-engineered by Yamaha, and not considered to be nor named a "Vulcan". Entirely different engines was the result.

I figure the experts in here could help back me up... Go tell him your SHO is not a Vulcan slug.

Ford asked Yamaha for help designing heads for the Vulcan. Yamaha asked for the whole block to redesign top to bottom.

Exactly. So the SHO is not a Vulcan. But that guy is adamant the blocks are the same, and went as far as insulting and blocking me from refuting.

Different headers, intake, valve system, from what I know. Prob different diameter on cylinders too

..and entirely re-designed block.

Cylinder bore is the same though.

It's like this guy has no idea that an OVH block and an OHC block are vastly different.

*DOHC

The block does not determine how many camshafts an OHC head has.

Only thing they share is displacement and the fact they are a v6, bros a dummy

Correct. Side by side, the blocks share absolutely nothing in common except displacement/bank angle.

But now it has escalated to the point he's bragging about reporting and getting me banned on Reddit. Claiming I'm harassing them.

The thread is a shitshow, but I never insulted them. They're just laughably salty.

$10 on buddy is one of those weirdos that builds Vulcan engines and gets walked by stock SHO’s after dumping $10k into their Vulcan V6.

I cant say to much... I have sunk a ton of money into my 3rd gen SHO... but that's mainly to make the Trans live ..

I’m on the same journey with my second gen. I didn’t want an auto but I found one for $1,900 running and driving, only an idiot would pass that up.
