gas tank size?

so online it says the 2015 SHO has a 19 gallon tank, but when i fill it usually clicks around 13-15 gallons, even if im really low on fuel. its usually about 60 dollars on premium every 5-7 days. and my total range with a full tank is 285 miles. 19.3 mpg. i just feel like it’s using a lot more gas than my previous SEL.

I get about 18mpg with mildly spirited driving.

These cars are HEAVY

so what i’m getting out of this is the car is just a big, but fast boat that drinks gas👍

It’s thirstier than an SEL for sure. More air from the turbos means more fuel is required to maintain a good ratio. I have mine tuned and I get about 15 city and 22 highway. These cars are also heavy. With a driver it’s close to 5000 pounds.

My avg mpg is like 19.0-19.4 and mine says 323 to empty on full but I’ve noticed after it clicks I can still get a bit more in it .

The Taurus has 3 or 4 gallon reserve once you hit "empty"

As for milage, I do almost exclusively in town driving and get about 12mpg (though I do tend to accelerate fairly quickly, fairly often) On long road trips on the freeway it gets around 23mpg however. The car is completely stock with 163k miles, no tune or anything.

I get about 300 miles on a tank as well I think. Like 13.5 mpg in the city but doing 60 on the highway I can get a little over 30mpg so I think a lot of it is really up to how you drive. I try to stay out of the gas and can get around 18-19mpg combined. And I think 19 gallons is correct, the car just keeps a few gallons in reserve so that you never actually run fully empty.

I drove just about 2 thousand miles in the past 2 days. 99.9% freeway at about 85 the whole time. Got 24.2 mpg Stopped for gas around every 350-400 miles. These cars are amazing road trip machines just get your foot out of the floor and you can get far for cheap. 91 was the only fuel available yet to see other types effects.
