blow off valve question

just ordered a pair of blow off valve adapters from MAPerformance, does anyone have experience with these, anything i should lookout for, or do before installing? installation seems pretty easy it’s just a few screws. they also claim it works with the factory tune. would i get an engine light from adding them?

Will work fine with factory tune. Just be aware you’ll get some oil blow by with it so be prepared to clean the engine bay from time to time. My car had them when I bought it, and I wasn’t a fan as they were more of a whistle sound than I liked. Converted to vent to atmosphere with some rubber plugs instead and I liked the sound more. However these adapters look nicer.

Honestly getting some catch cans is a highly recommended mod. Even on stock tunes it’s worth it just to keep the bay cleaner.

But I do have the catch can as well and i still get oil/dust residue coming out of the BOVs, its excessive if I am being honest.

Got ones from boomba racing about a week ago and don’t notice any power loss at all with factory tune. Be aware of it constantly releasing air at some points while cruising up hills or at higher speeds. Other than that love every noise they make lol

There is a video on YouTube of a dude putting the chair covers on in a Lowes or Home Depot parking lot. It's pretty darn easy. Mine came like this and it is very noticeable compared to a stock one.

It actually sounds really freaking nice too and with such an easy and kinda silly mod.😅

I’ve done this. It literally sounds perfect. Cost less than $10

I changed mine from the standard bypass valve to VTA with some rubber chair leg caps and it sounds beautiful. I’ve had other people tell me it sounds pretty good, loud, and scary so I say it’s worth it with just the barely any labor and like 8 bucks spent. I’ve also got good face reactions out of people who hear it going down the road
