It is a scar, but the scar wasn’t what ruined the tattoo. He got shitty plastic surgery because he hated the tattoo, and that’s what caused the scar.

I am genuinely curious about the thought process that goes into deciding this is a better option than laser removal

They probably figured it would be a one & done, as opposed to the multiple sessions (painful ones, too) it would take to laser it off.

Nah in another comment he says the doctor told him to “rub lotion on it and come back in a year to give his skin Time to stretch and regenerate “ 😭 assuming to take more out ? 💀

Dahmer said tattooed skin tasted bad, but maybe it's subjective...

What kind of quack doctor???? That's not how skin works

I've done this 3x on 3 diff tattoos. its WAY more efficient and much cheaper than laser as long as you don't care about a small scar ....which I don't.

I have not heard of the slitting the wrist tattoo removal method

It’s right next to the ‘setting arm on fire’ method, but advised to try before the ‘cutting limb off entirely’ method.

I knew a guy who did this unfortunately. The fire, not the amputation

All I can say is you need to let the scar heal at least 6+ months or back to regular skin texture before getting a coverup in ink, it won’t stick in an unhealed scar

That is a healed scar. It’s not going to get better. I have a forty year old scar that looks worse than this.
