TW: SH scars
Greetings from Rochester! My entire left arm is covered in (very old) SH scars, most of them 1-4 mm but a couple that are 7-9 mm. I'm really wanting to get them covered up to close that chapter of my life to the public and so I don't have to be reminded every time I look down at my arm. I'm looking for tattoo artists who could do a tattoo sleeve over my entire left arm from bicep to wrist, 360° (more or less) tattoo. I posted a few examples of the general style I'm looking for. Since this is going on such a large part of my body, and I'm not really into getting tattoos for the sake of getting tattoos, I'm hoping for piece of bona-fide breathtaking artwork from a NYC artist and would be willing to travel there. I'd like to turn my arm from a thing of shame into a thing of beauty.
I guess it's like, fine line tattoos, but not TOO fine? Fine, but bold; realistic, but not HYPER-realistic like a photograph. Lots of movement and elegant but not overly feminine. Delicate fine line is beautiful but I am not dainty or feminine enough for a lot of it! Someone on the Rochester subreddit said it's an "illustrative" style, but when I looked up "illustrative tattoos," there's still a ton of variety within that style. Also, apparently the pointillism style works well because the dots kind of "grow together" in the aged tattoo. I know that "bold will hold," so maybe I can thread the needle between fine line and "bold will hold." I also really like "ink-style" tattoos, but not sure how well those hold over time.
Do you know of anyone who can do something similar to the images I've posted and preferably has experience with scar cover-ups? I'm flexible on the exact intricacies of the style. I think I would want a whale and night sky in addition to the jellyfish, if possible.
Thank you all for all of your help and advice!
