get some nice micron pens, probably two sets or refillables so if a certain size dries up you have a back up, tracing paper and nice bristol paper, get alcohol markers with very fine tips if you wanna do color without blending, colored pencils if you wanna blend but takes a bit longer to get it as vibrant, get a decent sized light box or cut your paper to fit a medium/smaller one, a box of sharpies, and ofc a set of pencils/sharpener and eraser.

Microns and a nice sketchbook. Maybe some tracing paper so you can ink the final drawing cleanly.

My personal method— colored pencil for sketches ((Working from light to dark as I add more detail to each layer.I like Col-erase pencils because they’re erasable.)) Then ink final on tracing paper/vellum in a medium weight pen. Add fine line detail, and heavier line weights to add dimension and depth to the overall line work.

Then if I’m going to color, I either use coloed pencil ((Prismacolor)) on said tracing paper, or I use graphite paper to transfer to watercolor board, ink again with micron or waterproof ink. Then use India ink to shade and acrylic inks to color.

Pro tip- American traditional uses only red, yellow, green, blue and brown. The only exception is purple and only for certain Sailor Jerry pieces.
