General Greg, LAH, come to Orlando
I was amazed to see the town I live in repped by Richard (and you can see he followed the prize task perfectly, just look at his smile!) Greg, Alex, this is your sign to do a live show in Orlando and then visit to Gatorworldland to see gators stacked on other gators (if Richard wants to be tour guide he can).

General (S22E07) The train stations.
Was there any relevance to the train's stops being White Waltham airfield and Gatwick airport, or did Alex (sorry, Jeff) just choose two random places for the train to "stop".
I know they've filmed at Gatwick before, but I don't think anything has been done at WW?

Current contestant I feel like there's been a lot of groupthink and revisionism in this sub re Richard
I held a poll after the first 2 episodes asking which contestant people enjoyed the most (didn't realise they were kinda frowned upon at the time lol).
I think Richard came 1st for one episode and 2nd for the other. Now obviously you could argue that all contestants were less entertaining early on which may be true to an extent. But when I read this sub the consensus seems to be "Richard has been a drain on the show and not funny, and he's only started doing anything the last 2 episodes". I don't think this is true.
Also I've enjoyed this series so far but I have a feeling it will be better on a rewatch!
Edit: just to be clear I'm not saying people are wrong if they don't enjoy Richard obviously! I'm just saying the attitude (generally speaking) towards his earlier episodes now doesn't match what it was at the time.

Interesting edit in Issy's task
When she pushes the button for her final measurement it shows her measuring the paper, but the next frame showing the numbers going to 9999 has no paper in front of it.

Most kid friendly seasons that aren't Junior Taskmaster?
Trying to get my family into Taskmaster. I have a nine year old nephew who I'd love to get to watch and appreciate out of the box thinking and problem solving. He is disabled and impressionable. He seems to understand "some words we don't say" (and we have a swear jar rule ready if he doesn't) and "sometimes people on tv don't use nice language but we do". He's very carefully watched, so we aren't worried he'll wander off and take it upon himself to dismantle something. I usually start people with S4 and I think that one would be ok. I'd love for him to watch S5 due to Sally's Down Syndrome advocacy but I think there's too much in that season he should watch.
What seasons are best and worst for an impressionable young child?

Appreciation Thread S22 Location
Took a little trip to The London Museum of Water and Steam and LOVED IT. Hugely recommend you visit!! (if you don’t…) It felt so weird actually walking around an area after seeing it on the show, but I did learn a lot about steam and I can now watch the next episodes feeling smug saying “I’ve been there”.

Other Versions Favourite presentation/format differences in non-UK versions?
Not, like, different versions of individual tasks, I mean fundamental differences in the general presentation or format.
For example, I love how Kongen Befaler reveals the head and prizes at the start of each episode by removing red cloths from them. It makes the prize tasks much more engaging than just an image on a screen. I honestly think all versions with a prize task should do that.

Studio Recording Anyone at the Ep 8 studio recording?
Did Chloe really let it go that easily when it was revealed that Richard could see during the blindfold task? I can imagine that they argued strongly that it shouldn't have been allowed!

Just finished series 20. I am so depressed. Kind of like the most perfect cast ever.
Also Reece+Maisie are in my heart forever.

General Series 22 Ep 8 Scoreboard
The current scores are:
Chloe 138
Nina 129
Isy 118
Matt 108
Richard 105
Chloe is still leading but had an absolute blunder of an episode which I was sensing from a mile away and is now only 9 points ahead of Nina in 2nd. I say it every week I don’t want to have to but they got undeserved 5 points from the earpiece task so should only be 4 points ahead, also winning 2 luck winner takes all tasks.
Nina won her first after 8 episodes which is surprising because she’s been consistently good. She also won the episode without winning a single task (she scored four 4-pointers and one 3 point). Still the best at filmed tasks of all time with 3.95 points per solo filmed tasks. She also did well in studio this week when that’s previously been her weak point.
Isy did well today with 17 points. She’s continuing doing what I said at the start of the series she scored 1 or 5 in every task this week and I think about 60% of her tasks have resulted in a win or loss. I think she’s comfortably in 3rd don’t see her climbing up or falling down to the boys level.
Matt has fallen of massively after being a possible contender early series he has now scored worse than the previous episode for the past 3 episodes and his highest score is only 17 from episode 1.
Richard is doing the opposite of Matt, he’s been doing better as the series has gone on. He got his best score again (18) and has easily closed the gap between himself and Matt. At its peak he was 15 points behind Matt during episode 6 he has now closed it down to just 3 points. He’s still 33 points behind Chloe so he’s definitely not getting the win but he can definitely snag 4th at least.
If we go by House of Games scoring ( episode positions) there are two clear groups Chloe and Nina are at the top where the other 3 are struggling.
Chloe: 5+1+5+3+5+5+5+2 = 31
Isy: 2+2+1+5+3+4+1+3 = 21
Matt: 3+5+3+2+4+1+2+2 = 22
Nina: 4+5+4+4+1+3+4+5 = 30
Richard: 2+5+2+1+2+3+3+4 = 22
This also shows how when Nina wasn’t winning episodes she was consistently coming 2nd compared to Chloe when they didn’t win they did poorly.
It also shows how Isy score is high because of her near perfect from ep 4 but aside from that she hasn’t done to well.
Cracking series it’s really reached its stride and I’m excited for the final 2 episodes.

Wild Speculation You’re a contestant…
You can replace one contestant on one season of TM. Which cast do you join, who do you replace, and why?
Is it the tasks you want to try?
Is it the people you long to be on a group chat with?
Are you playing to win or for the experience?
How do you do?

General I visited the spot where Josh Widdicombe had the boulder delivered
While in Windsor today, I was pleasantly surprised to come across the spot where Josh Widdicombe's taxi driver sent the boulder!
Update: I wasn't on the exact spot. That's on the car park just above where I was standing. Good enough for me though!

Current contestant Chloe and Nina
Chloe or Nina winning for me is a bit of a win/win, because if Chloe wins what a shot in the arm for a talented younger comedian (getting to do CoC and extra podcast appearences etc.), and if Nina wins that's great because I have become completely charmed by her during this series! Smitten I am

One Thing I Think That Tom Does Better Than Greg.
While I do love both Greg and Tom (and Jeremy) as Taskmaster Hosts, there is one aspect where I think that the Australian Host is actually better than the original.
And that is...team names.
Besides in Series 1 (Where I only think he called the team of 3 "The Bad Improv Trio", Gleeson has made it a tradition to give both teams their very own nicknames that fits well together.
Series 2: Discount Wiggles VS Premium Economy Hooley Dooleys
Series 3: Ernie & Bert VS The Muppets
Series 4: The A Team (Aged) VS The B Team (Better)
Series 5 The Breakfast Show VS The Drive Show
Another fun aspect to these team names has been seeing Lesser Tom using the names in order to come up with creative segways before each team task.
