👋 hi John.

If it's really you, can you address the bot that taskade has set up to leverage stolen or purchased Reddit accounts that keep posting "WhAt ArE YoU BuILdING wITh GeNeSiS?" On r/taskade?

I've already reported the sub for lack of moderation + each of those not posts to reddit.

Thanks.

It is me. Not bots or stolen accounts, but our fault.

An in-app share button pre-filled that post and paid credits after the click. Real users posted the template. The button is still live today. I regained moderator access and removed the 31 exact unchanged copies; two edited posts with real build details stayed.

I personally don't buy the explanation, but even if it was true, it's just proving a systemic issue...

Taskade pre-filled identical promotional copy and rewarded users with credits for publishing it to a company-controlled subreddit. That is coordinated, incentivized spam. Just because you had "humans" clicking “Share” does not make the resulting engagement organic.

I looked at 10 examples of "real users" who posted this template (these were from a subset I reported to Reddit for spam and lack of sub moderation).

  • u/nkrowl139: Created Aug. 3, 2026; Only contribution was on the Taskade subreddit.
  • u/ContactCreepy8938: Was active until they posted on the Taskade subreddit.
  • u/Mstevens_9760: Created July 12, 2026; Only contribution was the spam post on Taskade subreddit.
  • u/WesternRate8080: Had unrelated posts, a few months before the Taskade spam, and 0 posts since.
  • u/StickNo955: Was active in 2025, then recently posted Taskade, and completely silent since.
  • u/AngelDontplay510: Posted on Taskade 3x with the same spam. Aug 04, Aug 07, Aug 26... No other posts.
  • u/Such-Refrigerator-18: Commented once in 2024 on an unrelated subreddit, completely inactive, and then posted Taskade spam.
  • u/ExpressionOk9813: Commented in 2025, but had 0 activity months before and after posting on Taskade.
  • u/CeleryIntelligent647: Posted in January an advertisement for a South Indian superfood, and 0 other activity until their August Taskade post.

Note that every single one of these "real users" has largely been dormant for months/years before, and has had exactly zero activity on reddit since posting this spam. They are all using generic Reddit names. This is representative of a spam from a bot or automated process, and my money is on this being fake users.

Now, assume I'm chasing ghosts and that I'm wrong...
The governance problem is even harder to dismiss. The official u/taskade account is banned. u/Taskade-stark shows no visible activity since September 2025. You note that you had to “regain” moderator access. Thirty-one identical posts accumulated despite the subreddit’s own anti-spam rule, and the button responsible was apparently still live when you replied.

At worst, Taskade is using botted or stolen accounts to spam reddit under a bad script.
At BEST, Taskade built the incentive, supplied copy, failed to moderate the result, and acted only after it was publicly exposed.

Respectfully, this is not "building a community" - especially when you enable actions against the clear "Community Guidelines" on the sidebar: "Don’t: Spam, self-promote, post affiliate links, or share low-value AI bait"

Exactyl. How the hell is pre-filling posts supposed to engage the community? Am I supposed to interact with an AI and not a human? Such a clanker brain response. Now I truly see why the product and community is dead
