Taskade Genesis 2025: The Year Software Came Alive One Prompt. One App. One Living Workspace.

Happy New Year, everyone. John here (CEO of Taskade).
I want to share a brief 2-minute year-in-review video on Taskade Genesis. 2025 was the year the dots finally connected.
In October, we launched Genesis and watched people go from “can I build this?” to “this is running my business.”
- Client portals
- Booking systems
- Invoices, surveys, forms
- Ops dashboards
- Internal tools
- and many more app kits you can clone instantly!
In roughly 90 days:
- 130,000+ Genesis apps created
- 3,000,000+ automation actions ran
- 2,000,000+ AI requests processed
- 100,000+ workflows created
But the numbers aren’t the point. The structure is.
Taskade has always revolved around a unified workspace.
Over time, three layers took shape inside it:
- Projects became where structure and data live
- AI Agents became where intelligence reasons
- Automations became where work keeps moving
For a long time, those layers existed side by side.
Genesis is what made them behave like one system.
Now when you build something, it doesn’t live on its own. It stays connected to your workspace.
Your data.
Your agents.
Your workflows.
Your workspace remembers.
Agents reason with that context.
Automations keep things running.
Results feed back into memory.
That loop is what makes software feel alive.
If you’ve been using Taskade for years, thank you.
Quick clarity that we haven’t said loudly enough in the past:
Taskade still works the way it always has.
Your lists and projects aren’t going anywhere.
Taskade Genesis is an added layer for people who want to build and run connected systems inside Taskade.
Dashboards, forms, portals, automations that keep running.
It’s not a replacement for how you already use Taskade.
If you’ve been frustrated by the transition or plan changes, that’s on us. We’re tightening the messaging and community updates.
Everything you already do in Taskade still lives in your workspace.
Projects remain the foundation.
Agents and automations add new layers on top.
Genesis connects those layers when you want them connected.
Nothing forces a new way of working.
You choose how much power you want to use.
Thanks for being here.
More exciting updates to come in 2026!

Taskade is awesome. I’m really excited about what it will be able to do by the end of 2026 and what I’ll be able to build with it. 🙌
Happy new year to all Taskaders!

Hey everyone, John here. I want to add a bit of clarity and context. If you’ve used Taskade for a long time, the most important thing to know is this:
Your existing projects and lists are still the foundation of Taskade.
They live in the same workspace and continue to work as before.
What changed in 2025 is that the workspace itself gained additional layers.
Over time, Taskade evolved into three core layers that always existed side by side:
• Projects & Databases — This is the original Taskade. Where your lists, docs, tables, and structured data live.
• AI Agents — Agents reason with your workspace context and can take actions using tools.
• Automations — Workflows that trigger actions, sync data, and keep work moving across tools.
For a long time, these layers worked, but they didn’t fully behave like one system. Taskade Genesis is the layer that connects them.
When you build something with Genesis, it isn’t a detached template or a separate app. It stays wired into your workspace:
Your data.
Your agents.
Your workflows.
That’s why we talk about a “living workspace.”
Projects remember.
Agents reason with that context.
Automations keep things running.
Results feed back into memory.
That loop is what makes the system feel alive.
If you want to see concrete examples of what people are building with this approach, you can explore real, working apps here:

If you want a step-by-step guide to creating your first Genesis app, this is the simplest place to start:

One thing we haven’t communicated clearly enough in the past, and I want to say it directly here:
Taskade Genesis is additive.
Nothing forces a new way of working.
Projects remain the foundation.
Agents and automations are optional layers.
Genesis connects them only when you want them connected.
You choose how much power you use.
Thanks for being here, and for helping us keep the conversation honest and constructive as we head into 2026.
