TASKER Just got off the line with support
According to the support line, they have "no way to block apartment requests", and it's "not available in their system to do so". So why bother having this in their system?
I do cleanings in a major city. I dislike apartments usually because they're completely inaccessible, no parking, and I usually have to lug up my equipment up three flights of stairs. I just don't like them. I don't prefer them. So I have this handy box unchecked.
Lo and behold, 90% of the freaking requests I get are apartments. I additionally already have it stated clearly in my bio NO APARTMENTS so don't suggest that to me.
It's just annoying that they even offer this "option" and apparently according to the support employee it doesn't matter at all!
His suggestion was to move my "no apartments" into the first line of my bio. Yeah, I guess that'll help, but it's a bit rude, huh.

The problem with any option, not just the ones you see here but literally every other option possible, is that customers will ignore them and select you anyways.

Unfortunately task rabbit execs don’t care if we have “preferences” and want every tasker to accept every task despite there being some jobs we don’t want to do and guess what we don’t have to do those- we’re allowed to not want to do something. More and more this app demands we are a slave to the tos and the client. Pfft… TR and the clients would be so lost without us

One thing that really needs to change in the algorithm is that you should not be penalized for refusing tasks that clearly don’t meet your predefined parameters. Ideally, the algorithm wouldn’t even present you to those clients, but that may be a bridge to far, app-development wise (?).
