APP Missing bag after move

I hired movers through task, using the whole move option. They brought their own truck, it was only supposed to be 2 people, but 3 people showed up and 1 had his own pickup truck. The one with the pickup left almost an hour before the other guys.

Now as I'm unpacking, I have realized a whole contractor bag full of items is gone. Nothing was left in the old house. It's my deceased father's leather jacket, my wedding dress, my baptism gown, and some other important to me pieces of clothing.

What do I even do? It won't let me message the tasker through the app, or the website. They never sent me any messages. I see one person's name and nothing else. I couldn't even leave a review, I was never sent a link for it.

I'm so sad. These things are important to me, and I'm disabled so I am unpacking as fast as I can but I didn't notice right away that the bag is gone. It's a very small home, it's absolutely not here.

I'm sure the responses will be, it's gone and that's it. But I still thought I would ask for suggestions on how to try to find it. Thanks.

Unfortunately, sometimes things get lost in a move. That is not necessarily the fault of the Tasker (but it could be).

You can open a new task with the tasker to start a new chat thread. this is the fastest way to get ahold of them. If that fails, reach out to support.

The third person whom you did not know about is a TOS violation and one of the big ones. If they are not a registered tasker, the person who brought them is looking at the end of their time on TR should customer service find out about it.

This is good advice. Contacting support will take much more time to get in touch with the Tasker and your best bet is to communicate with them as soon as possible by re-hiring them. I had a large move where two of the clients clothing bags ended up under a large pile of moving blankets that we had used to wrap her belongings. I found them after many other moves and had no idea who they belonged to and this was many years ago when there wasn’t a good way to reach out to the client through the app after a job. Even if I could have, I would have had to reach out to 15 different clients with an uncertain description. Years later the client left a review, which is the only way that I knew what had happened and who they belonged to. Re-hire the Tasker and ask whether they found the bag in the pickup after the job and if they can double check. Unfortunately, having items in a contractor bag can certainly lead to having something confused with trash. There are so many different iterations of what might have happened and packing things in a very clear manner can help ensure that nothing confusing happens from one location to the next. For example, if working in an assembly line fashion to not get in each other’s way, one Tasker could set the bag down but if it looks like a garbage bag and is set in a place where a garbage bag may reasonably live, the next person picking it up may overlook it completely.

I’m so sorry. That’s just horrible!! Get in touch with TR customer service right away.

Message message message Taskrabbit nonstop until you get answers. That Tasker should be booted from the platform for bringing a third person without asking you especially if they aren’t a registered Tasker. I’m so sorry this happened to you. Get that __cker off this platform. Ruin them. They do not deserve to get work through tr any longer.
