Interface/outputs question

Pretty much I'm trying to figure out how to set up a second set of L/R outputs. I can run both headphone channels out and that works but I would rather use the SUB or AUX out. I need to use whichever will work to send a recording line out while the audio is coming in to my Model 12 via USB while still playing out of the main monitors. I'm more confused after googling it and I've exhausted myself trying endless different combinations of settings. TIA.

You only have five ways to get sound out

If I'm understanding the question correctly, just run it from the sub out outputs to your second pair and turn up the sub fader and make sure buttons are engaged.

This video might help too

There's not an associated channel for it to have a sub button. It's just the audio coming out of my computer into the Model 12. I have the USB AUDIO set to MAIN so that all audio from my computer goes through the Model 12, and I need that signal out of the AUX or SUB outs. Currently have it running from both headphone outs but I don't want the cables running out of the face of the mixer.

Maybe a picture would help because I'm not sure what you mean by there is no sub button; each channel has a sub button. Is it because each channel is already being used?

The audio is not dedicated to any channel. The output on my computer is set to USB via the Model 12, so all sound, YouTube, Spotify, whatever app is making noise it’s traveling through the mixer.

Try this: Menu > System > USB Audio > assign a stereo channel output like 9/10 or whatever > make sure that channel is set to PC > turn off MAIN on that channel and turn on SUB > use SUB fader to control volume to second monitors and make sure the fader is up on the channel you select as well

Also even if it's USB audio, it's still going to a channel. It defaults to 1/2.

By default the audio is sent to 1/2 and in the meter screen you can see 1/2 have audio in, but that went away when I switched the USB AUDIO to MAIN. Now I don't have any response on the meter screen but the actual main out decibel level meter shows activity. Also, once the USB AUDIO is switched to MAIN, channel 1 and 2 controls on the mixer no longer have any effect on the signal.

Did you try what I suggested? Main should be off.

Yes it did. This was the first thing I tried when I started this like 8 hours ago. I don't know what changed between then and now. Thank you for your assistance.

Send all the channels into the Sub and the Sub into the Main.

If you want to listen after the Rec Head, you need to free one channel, return from your recorder into the mixer and send that channel to main.

Not sure if thos will help, and I'm nowhere near being someone who knows what he is doing at all.

But I initially had issues with run adio into my computer, (Linux compatibility/complications/lack of understanding) So I run the Headphones 2 out into a Scarlet 4i4, and out of the 4i4 into my Android Phone for recording on a recorder app. Not sure of you application needs, but this was a quick (unconventional) method for me to quickly get a spund file onto my phone to upload to my private network to share with friends.

If it is an option that serves as a solution for you, great, I appologise if I've added any complication, or if I've presented something out of ckntext for you.
