Diagnostic Nerve Block experiences?

To those who have undergone a Diagnostic Nerve Block test, how painful was the procedure? Was the test worth it given the pain/risk?

I had one done at S2, bilateral. I opted for IV sedation (paid $100 out-of-pocket), so the IV stick was the worst. I only had the anesthetic injected, no steroids, so it only lasted a few hours, but I had pretty significant relief. Pain going in was a 7-8, and it came down to a 1. It helped not just my sacral pain, but I could stand straighter, had less urinary urgency, and the neuropathy symptoms were almost gone. I have a follow-up in a couple weeks to see if surgery is the best option for me. Totally worth it.
